A PAT test is a routine inspection of electrical appliances, to check they are safe to use. It’s purpose it to prevent electrical accidents.

PAT testing is an important part of any health and safety policy. According to HSE around 25% of all electrical accidents are caused by portable appliances, which is why several regulations point to the importance of electrical maintenance and PAT Testing.

The HSE has the power to close down businesses that do not comply with regulations, and employers can actually be prosecuted if equipment on the premises is not maintained and in an efficient working state. This is why Total Safe advise an annual PAT test to ensure your business complies with UK regulations.
