Better safe than sorry
Commercial fire extinguisher maintenance
In the event of any fire, extinguishers are vital – they are crucial in controlling flames before they get out of hand. Regular maintenance of commercial fire extinguishers is essential to ensure effectiveness in emergency situations. Fire extinguishers are highly pressurised cylinders, and if corroded or damaged, can explode and cause serious injury to staff.
Health and safety advice from British Standards specifies that maintenance of extinguishers should be performed annually and by a qualified person. Ensuring your fire extinguishers are always in perfect working order is an employers responsibility, and Total Safe help to make sure this procedure is simple, inexpensive and carried out with the highest level of care.

The Total Safe procedure
Your business in safe hands
A BAFE certified professional will check and service your extinguishers with a detailed and thorough examination – This is carried out once a year to meet UK regulations.
After the service, your Total Safe engineer will fit a label with details of the inspection, including date, engineer’s name and weight of the extinguisher, as well as the date of the next expected service. Our support team will be in touch shortly before the next test date to arrange a suitable date and time for the next visit.
Your Total Safe engineer will be more than happy to instruct a member of staff on what to look out for, so they can perform monthly in-house checks to ensure extra ongoing protection.
