Fire Extinguisher Maintenance at DP World

Over the last couple of weeks, Total Safe UK have been carrying out fire extinguisher maintenance at DP World. In that time, our team have carried out fire extinguisher servicing on almost 700 extinguishers!

Some of these extinguishers were fairly straight forward… standard extinguishers in the main office were easy to get to and, in that environment, something that we have done so many times before we could probably do it with our eyes closed.

However, others were not so simple…

We also had to service fire extinguishers on the automatic stacking cranes and the quay cranes. DP World‘s quay cranes are the largest in the world and taller than the London eye so not a job for the faint hearted!

Unfortunately, many of the extinguishers failed their service and were therefore condemned. So, in addition to the servicing, we have also had to replace each of the condemned units. This highlights the importance of fire extinguisher maintenance and servicing.

All extinguishers were serviced and replaced to comply with current British Standards.
