From this discovery, we started a process of exposing the pipework and isolating areas so that we could repair and replace the pipes and any connected items such as hydrants that needed to be done. After isolating the area and shutting off the water supply to the affected pipe, we could then drain the pipe and remove it without further damage to the surrounding area. By replacing areas of the pipe that had worn away over the years due to wear and tear and corrosion, we’re able to effectively manage the repairs in a way that is not overly disruptive to the premises and employees.
Proper water pipe maintenance and detecting leaks early through the regular servicing and testing of joined services, such as sprinkler systems and hydrants, is essential to ensuring that all emergency fire dampening measures and sources of water for fire fighters are effective and ready for in the event of an emergency.
