What we did: A regular client contacted us to carry out an annual fire extinguisher maintenance. We visited the site, serviced the extinguishers and condemned two as they had expired so were no longer safe to use in the event of a fire. Extinguishers do get expire after a number of years and we condemn these in order to keep our clients safe. Co2 extinguishers are condemned after 10 years, all other fire extinguishers are condemned after 5 years, however if an extinguisher is damaged or not functioning correctly, we will condemn it before this time period has elapsed for safety reasons and to keep in line with legal compliance standards.
