We carried out Fire Extinguisher Maintenance and PAT Testing of over 60 items, including power leads, projectors, printers and laptops. PAT testing is an essential part of keeping businesses safe, as it helps to prevent faulty electronics from being used and potentially sparking a fire. PAT testing includes not carry out an Earth continuity test to measure the resistance of a circuit, which should indicate any faults, but also a visual inspection of the cables to spot any signs of damage.

Fire Extinguisher Maintenance is carried out once a year; we do a visual and physical inspection of each extinguisher to confirm that it is still in date and has not been used. Any used or out of date extinguishers would be condemned and need replacing. This check also includes fire blankets; we found that the fire blanket in the kitchen in One Community had expired and were able to issue a replacement.
