Smoke Vent AOV Engineer

To help support our growth, we are currently recruiting professionals with experience in Smoke Vent AOV service, installation and maintenance. The product range covers smoke control, natural ventilation controls, window automation and manual window control.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the key areas:
– 1st fix installation of cabling on smaller projects.
– 2nd fix installation of control panels and accessories.
– Commissioning of the AOV system and handing over system to client.
– Servicing smoke vent systems as part of 12month health checks.
– Overseeing installation of new systems
– Working to high British standards and good knowledge of health and safety regulations.

About You:

Qualifications:

– Qualified fire alarm engineer – ability to service, test and maintain fire alarm systems would be beneficial, but not essential.

Fire Engineer

Ideal Candidate

· Minimum of 2 years experience in Fire Engineering, conducting fire strategy reports and fire risk assessments
· Degree in Fire Engineering or a related discipline (BEng/MEng/MSc)
· Strong knowledge of fire safety regulations such as BS9999, BS7974 and Approved Document B.
· Competence and experience of Types 1-4 FRAs
· Experience of residential, commercial and industrial Fire Strategy Reports and Fire Risk Assessments and broad range of property groups
· IT competent
· Full UK driving licence
· Up to date knowledge of Regulatory Reform (FS) Order 2005, Codes of Practices (inc BS9999 and BS 9991)
· Up to date knowledge of Building Regulations (ADV Vol1 & Vol 2) Lacors, NFCC Specialised Housing Guide and purpose-built blocks of Flats Guide 2011.

Desirables

· Membership with Fire Risk Assessor Register (IFE, IFSM, TFRAR, FRACS)
· CSCS Card
· DBS (this will be undertaken once employment is offered if not already in place)

Key Responsibilities

· Working in our office you will need to have excellent communication skills to liaise with customers and the Total Safe team.
· Develop fire strategy reports in accordance with BS 9999, BS7974 and Approved Document B.
· Undertake Fire risk assessments at various property groups across London and the South East of England. (There may be the occasional sites that are further than this but these will discussed before booking)
· Prepare technical reports, fire safety statements and evacuation strategies.
· Following visits (if required), the fire strategy documentation or fire risk assessment reports will be written up accurately and timely. The reports are to be completed in accordance with company policy and in conjunction with current legislation and any additional responsibilities as required.
· Working within agreed KPIs.

Fire Alarm Engineer

We are offering a permanent role for a qualified Fire Alarm Engineer, 40 hours Per Week, Monday to Friday, with some out of hours work at weekends depending on the client.

Your role will be to commission, maintain and service Fire Alarms, and attend emergency call outs.

𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀:
• FIA Level 3 Fundamentals of Fire Detection and Alarm Systems in Non-Domestic Premises. BS 5839-1 (or equivalent qualification)
• FIA Unit 1 Fire Detection Design. BS 5839 BS 5839FIA (or equivalent qualification)
• FIA Unit 4 Fire Detection System Installation & Testing (or equivalent qualification)
• FIA Unit 5 Fire Alarm Systems Maintenance (or equivalent qualification)
