What we did: Our engineers carried out an annual hydrant servicing test to ensure the system's reliability and compliance with safety standards. During the test, we pressurized the hydrant to check for leaks, flow performance, and overall functionality. Unfortunately, the test failed due to a leaking spindle when under pressure, as shown in the video below. This type of issue can compromise the hydrant’s effectiveness in an emergency, so we have advised that repairs be carried out promptly to restore full operational integrity and aim to reattend site as soon as possible.
